The 200-hour yoga teacher training course at Pyramid Yogshala is a 28-day program that runs from the 1st to the 28th of each month, and from the 15th to the 11th or 12th of the following month. All students who complete the course will receive diploma and are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

This 28-day, 200-hour yoga teacher training course is a comprehensive and transformative program that will immerse you in the world of yoga. You will learn about the history and philosophy of yoga, as well as the physical and mental benefits of yoga practice. You will also learn how to teach yoga effectively.

The course includes classes on meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra chanting, shatkriya (cleansing practices), traditional hatha yoga, ashtanga vinyasa yoga, kundalini yoga, anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, yoga teaching methodology, adjustment/alignment, and ayurveda.

Pranayama is a set of Yogic Techniques and practices generally defined as breath control and is on its own considered a science. Here is what you’ll learn on the subject:

Shatkarma is the Sanskrit term for one of the six yogic purification techniques (kriyas) as outlined in the “Hatha Yoga Pradipika.” The purpose of these cleansing techniques is to keep the body strong, clean and healthy. They remove toxins and anything blocking the flow of prana in the body.

Practicing shatkarmas internally purifies the body, and makes pranayama and meditation practice easier by preparing the body to perform these practices without distraction, discomfort or fatigue. This is a traditional yogic cleansing technique which is very effective and good to remove many illnesses and open the body blockages. You’ll learn:

Indian traditional yoga style is called “Hatha” (“ha” means sun “Tha” means  moon) Unifying the sun and the moon within (Yin and Yang).   • Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that focuses on activating the kundalini energy, which is said to be a dormant energy that lies at the base of the spine. The practice is believed to have originated in ancient India and was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in the 1960s.

    Kundalini yoga is a powerful practice that can have a profound effect on the body, mind, and spirit. It can help to improve physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual awareness.

    Some of the topics you will learn in a kundalini yoga class include:

    • The fundamentals of kundalini yoga
    • The tantras, which are the philosophical texts that underlie kundalini yoga
    • The concept of kundalini shakti, or coiled energy
    • The concept of chakras, which are energy centers in the body
    • The location and significance of the chakras

    Some of the practices you will learn in a kundalini yoga class include:

    • Muladhara chakra activation: This practice activates the root chakra, which is located at the base of the spine.
    • Swadhisthana chakra activation: This practice activates the sacral chakra, which is located below the navel.
    • Manipura chakra activation: This practice activates the solar plexus chakra, which is located in the abdomen.
    • Anahata chakra activation: This practice activates the heart chakra, which is located in the chest.
    • Vishuddhi chakra activation: This practice activates the throat chakra, which is located in the throat.

    Kundalini yoga is a safe and effective practice for most people. However, it is important to start slowly and gradually increase the intensity of your practice as you become more comfortable. If you have any health concerns, you should talk to your doctor before starting kundalini yoga.

  • During these classes, you will learn how a perfect posture should be. You will also learn how to connect with your future students through correct class verbal guidance and touch adjustment, and about recurrent yoga injuries and how to prevent them. Teaching methodology is one the most important part of the course as our students will learn the following:

The history of yoga, the sutras of Patanjali and the importance of yoga and its origins in India, are the subjects of these classes and lectures.  A question and answer session is performed in every class  so doubts can be addressed, and students can deepen their knowledge about yoga.

Anatomy classes expose how the body, bones, inner systems, and respiration are affected by asanas and the flow of breath. To know The basic structure and function of the organs and systems is very important to practitioners, so that their work as yoga teacher can be safe and  beneficial to future students. Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in India over 3,000 years ago. To restore harmony between the body, mind, spirit, and environment, Ayurveda promotes specific lifestyle practices and natural therapies.

This 200h yoga teacher training course will take place at Pyramid Yogshala in Laxmanjhula Rishikesh, India. Rishikesh is a holy city and is known around as the Yoga capital of the world. Every early March Rishikesh hosts the international Yoga Festival, organized by the world famous Ashram Parmarth Niketan. Rishikesh is therefore the perfect place to learn and study yoga. Surrounded by beautiful green mountains, the holy and mighty Ganges, Himalayan foothills, and tranquility, the spiritual atmosphere of this place can easily be felt. Monkeys, Squirrels , Dogs and Cows are everyday comp–agnions just as Parrots, Peacocks and other species of exotic birds. Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), from where you can take a domestic flight to Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun (DED). We will provide transportation for the school at no extra cost on the afternoon previous to the starting date. of the TTC.

♦ Arrival by bus

From the Delhi airport, you can get a taxi to bring you to Delhi ISBT bus station. From there you can find many government and private transportation to bring you to Rishikesh. Once you arrive at Rishikesh bus station, you can get a tuktuk to Laxmanjhula where we will be waiting to pick you up.

♦ Arrival by train

The nearest railway station is Haridwar train station. From there you will find many buses, taxis and other transportation services that will bring you to Rishikesh. If you want Pyramid Yogshala to help you arrange transportation from Haridwar, kindly let us know.
