Pyramid Yogshala is a family run Yoga school based in Rishikesh - the Yoga capital of the world. We are an accredited Yoga Alliance USA school since 2018, and have been graduating Yoga teachers since then.

With a vision to provide high quality Yoga education at an affordable price, we aim to contribute to the dissemination of the yogic principles and lifestyle that we believe are the greatest gift to mankind. Our motto is “Peace and Yoga for all”, and even though we are one of the “new kids on the block” of Yoga Schools in the holy city, we’re currently ranked as one of the best and most successful institutes in Rishikesh.

Pyramid Yogshala 100h, 200h, and 300-hour Holistic yoga teacher training courses focus on Traditional styles of yoga, with comprehensive and genuine teachings on Yoga philosophy, yogic life, asanas, pranayama, anatomy, meditation, mantra-chanting, teaching methodology, alignment, Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

Our team of teachers combines experience and young blood, with decades of teaching in the bag. We continually study and practice Yoga and all its pillars, building a strong knowledge foundation, based on the scriptures and our personal practice.

Pyramid Yogashala Teachers Training courses consist of groups of up to 20 people, in order to provide intimate safe classes, where our teachers can give proper personalized attention to each student. Small groups also generally connect and interact better and create a cool and friendly atmosphere that tends to generate special bonds between the students and our staff. Pyramid Yogshala YTTC’s are certified by Yoga Alliance USA, and grant access to 200RYT and 500RYT badges.

Program

This program is an enhanced version of our standard 200h Holistic Yoga Teacher training in Rishikesh. It’s perfect for modern Yogis who want to attend our teacher training courses, with comfort and style, and tailored only for solo travelers and couples.

Our brand-new facilities near Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh feature high quality yoga hall, rooms, restaurant and lounge, resulting in a more cozy and relaxing teacher training experience.

Like our standard program, this 200 hours holistic yoga teacher training course includes classes on Meditation, mantra chanting, shatkriya (cleansing process), Hatha yoga , Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, Anatomy, Yoga philosophy, Yoga Teaching Methodology, Adjustment/Alignment, Naturopathy and Ayurveda. During your stay, you will be hosted by a team of dedicated Yogis and hospitality professionals working to make this course a gratifying and transformative growth opportunity for you.

You’ll be immersed in Yoga for a period of 26 days, studying, practicing and living the yogic lifestyle, whilst sharing some of the most memorable moments of your life with fellow like-minded people, united in the path of yoga, for the uplifting of human consciousness and for the wellbeing of mankind.

During the opening (welcoming) ceremony you will be provided with a complete yoga kit which includes a book on Yoga and asanas, notebook, rudraksha mala, neti-pot, rubber neti, school t-shirt and bag. The course is structured so that all levels of yoga practitioners can learn and develop their practice and teaching abilities.

On the last day, after you passed the exams, you will be awarded a Diploma of completion. This diploma makes you eligible to request your Yoga Alliance 200 RYT badge, that allows you to teach yoga anywhere in the world.

All yoga class material such as yoga mats, bolsters bricks and belts will be provided by Pyramid Yogshala, but you can bring your own personal yoga mat if you prefer.

Three Freshly made yogic, vegetarian and vegan meals a day are included during the course. Fruit juices, tea and snacks are also served regularly during breaks, and all food is prepared very hygienically by our master chefs. All our vegetables are organic and locally produced. The food here at the Pyramids is renowned for its taste and quality.

What we eat influences our physical well-being, and also our emotions and thoughts. Yoga and Ayurveda classifies food according to the effect provoked in the body and mind, and it can be of three types - Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic. Tamasic food is the kind of food that makes us lethargic and sluggish. Rajasic food ignites activity and restlessness. Whereas, Sattvic food makes you feel light, energetic and enthusiastic.

Sattvic foods are considered to purify the body and calm the mind. They stimulate the body and mind into perfection in action. All food prepared at the Pyramids is Sattvic and prepared with dedication and love by our master chefs and assistants.

During the course, you will be staying at Pyramid Yogshala’s Yoga Retreat Center in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh, India, or similar facilities in the neighborhood. The center is situated in the heart of touristic Rishikesh. Next to the famous hanging bridge (Laxman Jhula) and holy Ganga (Holy river), yet away from all the hustle and bustle of the main market street.

The center features Premium single and double ac rooms, dining area, cafe & lounge, rooftop Yoga hall, spa and massage center, and even a swimming pool. 200 Hrs Program

This course is a 26 days immersion, designed to meet the needs of beginners and intermediate yogis who want to pass on their passion for Yoga, or simply enhance their practice to a whole new level deepening their knowledge on the subject along the way.

Because of the intense nature of the teacher training experience, the course is also a great opportunity for personal growth, and to really take some time off for yourself. You’ll be developing discipline, self-control, stamina, endurance and resilience, practicing spiritual and physical purification techniques, and learning a new set of skills that you can use in your daily life and future career as a Yoga instructor.

Big attention is given to Yoga Teaching Techniques and Principles, as well as to the correct alignment of asanas. You’ll learn how to prepare and conduct a class from beginning to end, how to keep your class engaged, and how to demonstrate, adjust and help your future students to reach their maximum potential getting the most benefit from the asanas performed.

We are confident that by the end of this course your level of fitness and practice will have improved significantly, and that you will feel your body and mind stronger, more flexible, and balanced, as well as an overall state of wellbeing deriving from the intense daily practices.

Kriya and Shatkarma (the six purification methods of hatha yoga)

Shatkarma is the Sanskrit term for one of the six yogic purification techniques (kriyas) as outlined in the "Hatha Yoga Pradipika." The purpose of these cleansing techniques is to keep the body strong, clean and healthy. They remove toxins and anything blocking the flow of prana in the body.

Practicing shatkarma internally purifies the body, and makes pranayama and meditation practice easier by preparing the body to perform these practices without distraction, discomfort or fatigue. This is a traditional yogic cleansing technique which is very effective and good to remove many illnesses and open the body blockages. You'll learn:

Hatha Yoga

Yoga Philosophy

The history of yoga, the sutras of Patanjali and the importance of yoga and its origins in India, are the subjects of these classes and lectures. Questions will be adressed and you will deepen your knowledge about yoga.

Yoga anatomy

Anatomy classes expose how the body, bones, inner systems, and respiration ar/ affected by asanas and the flow of breath. To know The basic structure and function of the organs and systems is very important to practitioners, so that their work as yoga teacher can be safe and beneficial to future students. Ayurveda

Ayurveda, is a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person's consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment.

This retreat will take place at the new Pyramid Yogshala yoga retreat center in Laxman Jhula Rishikesh, India. Rishikesh is a holy city and is known around as the Yoga capital of the world.

Every early March Rishikesh hosts the international Yoga Festival, organized by the world-famous Ashram Parmarth Niketan. Rishikesh is therefore the perfect place to learn and study yoga. Surrounded by beautiful green mountains, the holy and mighty Ganges, Himalayan foothills, and tranquility, the spiritual atmosphere of this place can easily be felt.

Monkeys, Squirrels , Dogs and Cows are everyday companions in Rishikesh just as Parrots, Peacocks and other species of exotic birds. The city of sages will lovingly welcome you as it does thousands of spiritual seekers who come to visit every year, and so will our dedicated team and committed staff

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), from where you can take a domestic flight to Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun (DED). We provide free transportation from Dehradun airport to the school at the beginning of the course. You are welcome to arrive the day before to check in and get settled.

Arrival by bus

From the Delhi airport, you can get a taxi to bring you to Delhi ISBT bus station. From there you can find many government and private transportation to bring you to Rishikesh. Once you arrive at Rishikesh bus station, you can get a tuktuk or taxi to our Laxman Jhula drop off point where we will be waiting to pick you up.

Arrival by train

You can reach Rishikesh by train, from cities like Haridwar and Dehradun. From Rishikesh train station you can easily find taxis and other transportation services that will bring you to the school’s drop off point. If you want Pyramid Yogshala to help you arrange transportation from the train station, kindly let us know.

Cancellation policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
